Russian forces launched 176 drones, including jet-powered Shaheds, at Ukraine overnight on October 22 to 23, 2026. Ukraine's Air Force said air defenses destroyed or jammed 140 by 08:00, including 68 jet-powered drones, with 10 still airborne; hits were recorded at 19 locations and debris at 13. A DTEK thermal power plant was badly damaged and stopped generating, Sumy's civilian infrastructure was struck and two petrol-station workers were injured, a railway facility burned in Poltava, and a drone hit a home in Zhytomyr Oblast, injuring nine people including two children.
